Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychology
Evaluation, Diagnostic & Consultative Servces

My name is Dr. Jennifer Zeisz and I am a clinical psychologist. Since 2001, I have developed a thriving private practice in Asheville, North Carolina. I specialize in conducting comprehensive psychoeducational and diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults.

In addition to working with families locally, I hold PsyPact (portable) licensure which allows me to practice in-person in over 30 states. I routinely travel to meet with clients in their homes, or at wilderness programs, therapeutic schools, and other treatment settings. I provide consultation to parents, mental health professionals, legal representatives, and therapeutic programs.

In my free time, I take advantage of the natural beauty of Western North Carolina by cycling, kayaking, and hiking with my family, friends, and beloved companion dog, Ruby.

Evaluation Can Help Your Child or Adolescent

Our children and adolescents face many challenges as they grow and mature. Sometimes their path is disrupted by developmental delays, trauma, behavioral challenges, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, attention/executive function deficits, academic struggles, and social issues.

I care deeply about the well-being of our young people. I believe that by viewing their struggles in a compassionate way, we can capitalize on their strengths and abilities. We are then able to provide the support they need to thrive and become their best selves. The overarching goal of my evaluation process is to increase understanding, activate resources, and restore hope.

Note to Parents

Parents who seek my services often have children or adolescents who present with complex issues or behaviors that are serious, persistent or poorly understood. The young person has not engaged with, nor improved with traditional therapies or interventions at home or school. Other parents have already enrolled their child/adolescent in a treatment program or specialized school.

All parents are seeking to better understand their child/adolescent in order to guide treatment, provide appropriate educational supports, and to foster healthy social, emotional, and family functioning.
